Hosted by Brian and Krysstal, Katoomba Comedy Club returns on Friday 3rd April at 7.30pm for a GOOD FRIDAY SPECIAL!
This month’s lineup:
AL DEL BENE (Headliner)
Los Angeles Comedy Awards™ Comedian of the Year, Al Del Bene broke into comedy in Boston at the age of 18 as a stand-up comedian and head of the sketch-improv group Al & the Monkeys. Upon moving to NYC, Al quickly became a staple of the underground comedy scene there, as well as writing, directing & starring in his musical debut at The NYC Fringe Festival.
Al has performed comedy & music to over 100 sold out stadiums & arenas as a featured act on Dane Cook’s Isolated Incident & Dane Cook Live! Tours. In 2012 Al was awarded Comedian of the Year by The L.A. Comedy Awards. In March of 2014 Al Del Bene and his family moved to Sydney, Australia, where he is quickly making his comedy known and working on his tan. No worries, Crikey, G’day!
CHRISTINA VAN LOOK (Opening Act)
Our opening act this month is the hilariously self-deprecating and bitingly sardonic Christina Van Look.
PEAR SHAPED MIDDLE SECTION
The mad middle section – could be great, could all go Pear-Shaped… this section will have three local acts doing trying stuff out with Brian and Krysstal adding their unique compering style into the mix. This month we have:
Polly Bender
Polly Bender – turning bad decisions into excellent material. If it comes in a bottle, a bag, or a bad idea, Polly’s probably tried it… and written a joke about it.
Catherine Horan
Local BM newbie to the comedy circuit
Dave Griffiths
Well known as Katoomba’s On the Soul Side Café owner, motorbike and guitar enthusiast, guinea pig whisperer and all round raconteur, Dave will bring his unique take on life to the KCC stage.
BRIAN AND KRYSSTAL - MCs
A unique musical comedy double act with over 22 years’ experience in the UK (including semi-finalists on Britain’s Got Talent), they now live in the Blue Mountains. Brian is infamously grumpy and deadpan, while his assistant Krysstal is glamorous but ditzy. The combination is unique and very funny. Their timing is exquisite, their humour dry and sometimes bawdy. For many years they ran the Pear-Shaped Comedy Clubs in London, Edinburgh and Sydney, and bring their oddball style to hosting the monthly nights at the Avalon in Katoomba.
Sit back, grab yourself a drink from the bar, and get ready to laugh yourself silly. Or, why not book a table for dinner at Avalon before the show.
Tickets $25 per person. Bookings essential.
Cocktail Bar open from 5.30pm. Show 7.30pm - 10pm (with 2 intermissions)
