Avalon provides a stunning, character-filled backdrop for private celebrations, weddings, and corporate events.

Housed within the historic 1898 Federation estate known as Rubyston, the venue blends timeless hospitality with beautiful garden surroundings and flexible indoor-outdoor spaces.

Whether you are planning an intimate sit-down dinner or a larger cocktail gathering, the restaurant delivers hearty, globally inspired comfort food, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere tailored to make any occasion 

GALLERY ROOM

Our light-filled dining room with adjoining verandah provides the option for sit-down or cocktail style functions.

The flexible layout allows us to accommodate both small, intimate events with long tables of up to 15, or large function with a full-house of 50 guests.

Our eclectic style and quirky vintage art and decor collected from global travels creates a unique ambiance, which is not only inviting but also presents the stage for an equally unique event, function or wedding.

The Hat Room is a whimsical, private dining space oozing eccentric Victorian flair, seating up to 20 guests.

Over looking the front lawn, this intimate space features walls lined with vintage bowlers, hand-made hats, and millinery artifacts, blending playful retro charm with antique theatrical styling.

Perfect for celebrations or small corporate gatherings, it offers bespoke à la carte or set menus and cosy, immersive hospitality.

WEDDING FAQs

  • Avalon can accommodate around 50 guests sit down style, up to 60 with canapé style.

  • There is a minimum spend requirement of $10,000 if you would like exclusive use of Avalon on a Friday - Sunday, and $5000 Monday - Thursday. Should your guest numbers fall short of the minimum spend, the full minimum tariff will be charged.

    ‘Exclusive use’ provides use of Avalon dining room and cocktail lounge for 5 hours.

  • To secure your date, we require an initial security deposit of $2,000.00 (credited towards the final account) within 7 days of receiving your confirmation. Once paid this reflects your recognition and agreement with the information provided on this site.

    Full payment is due 7 days prior to the wedding date, with any outstanding charges incurred paid on the day.

  • Avalon is an accessible venue. Access to the main dining room and cocktail bar is via a small ramp. Toilets are fully accessible.

  • Final numbers and menu selection is required 14 days prior to the wedding. Once final numbers are provided, this will be taken as confirmed. Catering will be provided for this number, and this will be the minimum charged irrespective of last minute cancellations.

    All food is subject to seasonal change; however, notification will be given for any changes.

    FOOD ALLERGIES

    Please advise details of guests with food allergies when confirming final numbers. Our menu contains allergens and is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, shellfish, sesame and gluten. Whilst all reasonable efforts are taken to accommodate guest dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that our food will be allergen free.

    SUPPLIER MEALS

    Meals for entertainers, photographers, videographers can be supplied at $50 per person. This will include a main meal plus non-alcoholic beverages.

  • Due to the breakable nature of Avalon, our venue is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.

  • You may supply your own table decorations and wedding favours however, no glitter confetti, and nothing is to be attached to any wall, door or other part of the Avalon. Linen napkins available at additional cost. A cake table and gift table is also available.

    We provide complimentary use of our in-house music system with iPod connection, including microphone and speakers.

  • Avalon is a fully licensed venue. All of our staff are trained in the Responsible Service of Alcohol, and those standards must be enforced. It is your responsibility to ensure the orderly conduct of your guests.

    Alcohol must not be taken out of the building.

    BYO is not permitted at weddings. We can tailor a drinks package to suit your needs and budget, or have beverages charged on a consumption basis.

    SMOKING

    In accordance with the NSW Health and Hygiene laws, smoking is not prohibited within the Avalon or Savoy building and surrounding areas.

  • In the event that you need to cancel/postpone your wedding we will happily refund any deposits paid however, all cancellations or changes of date made within 21 days of your wedding will incur a loss of the $3000 security deposit.
