Our eclectic style and quirky vintage surroundings create a unique ambiance, which is not only inviting but also presents the stage for an equally unique event, function or wedding.
The flexible layout of the dining room allows us to accomodate small, intimate weddings with tables of up to 20, segregated spaces of up to 50, or a full house of 110 guests.
Our adjoining cocktail lounge is an inviting area for pre-reception refreshments. The large, multi level dining room provides the option for sit-down or cocktail style receptions.
There are many churches, gardens, parks and other destinations nearby with spectacular views that are popular for ceremonies.

As a fully licensed venue we can offer you a range of beverage options to accompany your meal, including pre-arranged wine for the table, a bar tab, beverage packages, or have drinks charged based on consumption.
Alternatively, you can nominate to have guests purchase their own drinks from the bar.
Option 1 - $45pp
Enjoy a choice of our tap beers, light beer, house red & white wine, house sparkling, soft drinks, juices and tea/coffee for the duration of your event. Cocktails and spirits are charged on consumption basis or may be paid for by guests at the time of ordering.
Option 2 - $65pp
Enjoy a choice of premium wine & sparkling, our tap beers plus full range of bottled beers and house spirits. Piper Heidsieck for the bridal table, soft drinks, juices and tea/coffee for the duration of your event.
Cocktails - $15pp
Treat your guests to a welcome cocktail on arrival. Choose from popular favourites including Moscow Mule, Aperol Spritz, Cosmopolitan, or French 75.
Kate Woolfe Jazz
Why not consider adding some live music to your event? We have a range of bands that regularly perform at Avalon - from small acoustic duos, to five-piece jazz, to quirky party bands - that are available for hire.
We also have our resident DJ Old Spice, who specialises in all manner of vinyl including soul, funk, latin, disco and reggae grooves from the '60s and '70s.
Live music really changes the atmosphere of Avalon, so well worth considering to help make your wedding extra special.
GENERAL INFORMATION and FAQ
Avalon comfortably holds 90 guests sit down style, up to 110 with cosy seating or canapé style. Please note, when the maximum sit down capacity is reached space for a band and a dance floor is restricted.
MINIMUM SPEND + EXCLUSIVE USE
There is a minimum spend requirement of $8000 if you would like exclusive use of Avalon on a Friday - Sunday, and $4000 Monday - Thursday. Should your guest numbers fall short of the minimum spend, the full minimum tariff will be charged.
‘Exclusive use’ provides use of Avalon dining room and cocktail lounge for 5 hours.
DEPOSIT + PAYMENT
To secure your date, we require an initial security deposit of $3,000.00 (credited towards the final account) within 7 days of receiving your confirmation. Once paid this reflects your recognition and agreement with the information provided on this site.
Full payment is due 7 days prior to the wedding date, with any outstanding charges incurred paid on the day.
Avalon is set in the dress circle of the 1936 Savoy Picture Theatre. Access to the dining room and cocktail bar is via a flight of approx. 20 steps, with handrails provided on both sides. There are also 3 steps from the street level at the foyer entrance. Unfortunately there is no elevator or wheelchair access.

FINAL NUMBERS + MENU SELECTION
The final numbers of guests and menu selection is required at least 14 days prior to the wedding. Once final numbers are provided, this will be taken as confirmed. Catering will be provided for this number, and this will be the minimum charged irrespective of last minute cancellations.
All food is subject to seasonal change; however, notification will be given for this.
Please advise details of guests with food allergies when confirming final numbers. Our menu contains allergens and is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, shellfish, sesame and gluten. Whilst all reasonable efforts are taken to accommodate guest dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that our food will be allergen free.
ADDITIONAL (SUPPLIER) MEALS
Meals for entertainers, photographers, videographers can be supplied at $35.00 per person. This will include a main meal plus non-alcoholic beverages.
For kids requiring children’s meals and drinks, the cost is $35.00 per person. For little ones requiring no food or beverages there is no charge.
In accordance with the NSW Health and Hygiene laws, smoking is not prohibited within the Avalon or Savoy building and surrounding areas. Alcohol must not be taken out of the building.
ALCOHOL + DECORUM
Avalon is a fully licensed venue. All of our staff are trained in the Responsible Service of Alcohol, and those standards must be enforced. It is your responsibility to ensure the orderly conduct of your guests.
We may BYO wine/sparkling, with an additional corkage/service fee of $15 per guest over 18. Wine must be supplied by the bride and groom, and we don't allow guests to BYO. The BYO drinks will be served by our licensed staff in the dining room and at the bar. Responsible Service of Alcohol standards must still be enforced.
DECORATIONS + DECOR
You may supply your own table decorations and wedding favours however, no glitter confetti, and nothing is to be attached to any wall, door or other part of the Avalon. Linen napkins available at additional cost. A cake table and gift table is also available.
AUDIO + VISUAL EQUIPMENT
We provide complimentary use of our in-house music system with iPod connection, including microphone and speakers.
In the event that you need to cancel/postpone your wedding we will happily refund any deposits paid however, all cancellations or changes of date made within 21 days of your wedding will incur a loss of the $3000 security deposit.
Gratuities are discretional and are appreciated by the Avalon team.
