Fragile Ids is John Shand (percussion), Jo Truman (voice/piano), Tim Cunningham (electric guitar) and Andy Milne (electronic interfacing), who together play new music and free improvisation influenced by jazz, combined with ambient electronics.
Fragile Ids make music that fully reflects who each member – with their varied backgrounds and experiences across diverse musical idioms – is in the exact moment of making the music. The individual identity is of less importance than the collective, however: who each Fragile Ids is in relation to the others, in relation to the room’s acoustics and in relation to the mood of the audience. This is music to take both players and listeners on journeys to places they’ve never visited before – and all without leaving Katoomba!
