Join Ernest in the Avalon Cocktail Lounge every first Monday of the month when WestWords presents Hemingway’s Polydactyl Kitten Club and Speakeasy - an evening of spoken word, poetry and readings of new work.
Each event will feature a guest artist as well as opportunities for floor performers to share their words. Young readers encouraged.
This months’ special guest is actor, musician, film producer and debut novelist Peter Valentine Fenton, who will be in conversation with James Roy, talking about his debut novel, The Days of In Between.
Peter has led a fascinating life, having acted in such productions as Praise and ABC TV’s Love is a Four Letter Word. He was also a founding member of iconic Australian indie band Crow.
As always, floor spots are available, so if you've ever wanted to get behind a microphone to share something you've written, or even just tell a story or read something great written by someone else, this is your opportunity to do it in front of a welcoming and generous audience.
Entry is $10 ($5 concession) and we will have gift vouchers from The Little Lost Bookshop to give away as door prizes.
