About the Artist - Jo Langley
From her vantage point at Blackheath, Jo Langley finds delight and inspiration in the diversity of Blue Mountains environments. Intersections of art and environment, nature and culture, are at play in her digital montages that capture the essence of the world around us. From sweeping views of ancient rock faces and forests to the moody, gnarled conifers that line residential streets and parks.
Immersing herself in the preparatory stage, Jo observes, selects and photographs vistas of wilderness landscapes and cloud formations, as well as close-ups of emblematic flora and decorative detail. She incorporates the light and colour that changes depending on the time of day, weather and extremes of season. She spends countless hours collaging digital images, a meticulous process of layering and merging elements into the completed image, using processes similar to the traditional techniques of assembling collages.
Jo's 'Blue Mountains' suite incorporates her fascination with Folk Art - that is the traditional decorative expression of the culture and community of ordinary people and their inherent aesthetic possibilities. Her montages are edged with borders replicating antique or retro friezes, whether drawn from decorative historical photographs and frames, posters and postcards,, or old fashioned stamped tin designs such as the lids of biscuit tins.

About the Musician - Paddy Connor
With a gently twanging banjo, a storytelling guitar, and stomping jigs on the uilleann pipes, Paddy Connor lovingly pulls apart the cogs and wheels of Irish, Bluegrass and Folk Music before bolting it all back together into an earthy, modern sound.
Drawing inspiration from in the hanging swamps and heritage rail tracks of the Blue Mountains, his convict laments give way to pagan gospel and hillbilly hollers about quolls who steal chickens…and the odd retro 80s pop song picked out on a lonesome banjo.
About The Art of Lunch
The Art of Lunch is a showcase for the extraordinary talents of local Blue Mountains artists, musicians and chefs. The event stimulates opportunities for creatives, as well as a wealth of new opportunities for local residents and visitors to the greater Blue Mountains region to appreciate their skills and virtuosity.
The first season of the Art of Lunch commenced on Sunday, 26 May and every last Sunday of the month until October 2019. The event will take place simultaneously at several restaurants and galleries within the Greater Blue Mountains region, with each venue offering a different theme, exhibition and performance. Art of Lunch guests will enjoy a menu specially designed menu by a chef, a visual art exhibition opened by the artist and a thirty-minute live music concert.
The Art of Lunch is a concept by Earthly Delights, a collaboration between three well established Blue Mountains creatives; Susan Cochrane Artistic Director, Meg Benson Music Hunter and Brad Diedrich Digital Media Designer.
Susan, the instigator of the Art of Lunch, dreams up lavish art events for iconic venues in the Blue Mountains region.
Meg and Brad were heavily involved in the 2018 Live and Local festival and both have feature programs on RadioBM. Meg is famous for organising numerous gigs in key Blue Mountains locations and Brad creates a presence for Blue Mountains in amazing websites and across all social media platforms.
