Avalon presents the Friday Supper Club. Join us for Live Music, Dinner or Supper & Classic Cocktails, every Friday night. This week's music to dine to will be provided by Penelope Wells & Peter Bailey.
Blue Mountains singer Penelope Wells is one of those performers that you wished graced the stage more often, with performances described as heart-stopping and moving, with pure feeling - straight from the Cabaret of Monmatre.
Over the past 12 years Penelope has performed in her one woman show Love and Other Pathologies at El Rocco in Darlinghurst; This Bird Has Flown - a Beatles based cabaret; and a series of sell out concerts, We Meet Again My Heartache, Long Play One and Long Play Two in association with Lisa Schouw at the Django Bar in Marrickville.
Joining Penelope is Musical Director, Peter Bailey, who accompanies her on piano, guitar, ukulele and sometimes sings. He is a musical force. They are witty and charming team together.
Peter has been a professional musician for 40 years, working extensively in the recording studio productions as composer, musician, arranger and producer. Peter has also performed as a musical accompanist in numerous productions including The Sydney Mardi Gras Arts Festival's Elegies, the B Sharp season show Cuore with Gina Zoia: Minute by Minute, Follow the Yellow Brick Road with Avigail Herman: Singing Over the Bones with Lisa Schouw for B Sharp at Belvoir Street Theatre and at The Stables Theatre.
Peter is also Musical Director for Lisa Schouw’s The Other Woman: The Life and Music of Nina Simone, which has been performing sell out shows in Sydney and Adelaide for numerous seasons.
