The Armee plays a great variety of music including swing, bebop, ska, reggae and soul, all with a wild and energetic street feel. Wonderful music for the ears and the feet, this is a celebration of the creative spirit of Korowal School.
1.20pm - Tracey Yarad Trio
Australian Pianist and singer Tracey Yarad brings an esoteric mix of sensuality and intuition to her every performance. An imaginative interpreter of song and innovative songwriter, hifting fluently between Brazilian, jazz, fusion popular and lassical styles. Watching her live, interacting with her band members, she appears to frolic over the keys charging her audience with an infectious wingding groove, yet she remains a polished musician with an engaged, eloquent energy and to that she is wholeheartedly committed.
3.10pm - Bruce Cale and Willem Roorda
Bruce Cale has a long history as a musician, performing both locally and internationally. He's worked with Bryce Rohde, Tubby Hayes, Ernie Watts and John Handy among others. IN Sydney Bruce led a small ensemble with a shifting lineup which included, at times, Roger Frampton, Bob Bertles, Dale Barlow, Charlie Munro, Phil Treloar, Alan Turnbull and Tony Buck. He led his own Bruce Cale Orchestra through the 1980s, recording three albums with the group. He's also performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
A self-confessed bluesman, Willem Roorda trespasses unashamedly into the enigmatic and murky world of jazz armed solely with enthusiasm, a guitar and the company of legends.

The Winter Magic Festival is a free community festival, celebrated annually around the Winter solstice in Katoomba. The 2017 Winter Magic Festival will be held on Saturday 24th June it will be the 24th annual festival.
The 2017 Winter Solstice (Yule) falls on June 21st, 2:23pm AEST.
The Winter Magic Festival is the Blue Mountains highest profile and most anticipated annual event. It is the weekend when artists, musicians, dancers, drummers, choirs, stalls and community take over one of Australia's most famous towns.
During the event, the main street of Katoomba is closed to motor traffic and open to pedestrian traffic. This allows the whole town to become a performance space. The streets are lined with market stalls and everybody who attends is encouraged to dress in costume.
Unlike many Festivals run by Chambers of Commerce, Tourism Organisations and Councils, this event is run by community volunteers. It has a strong local focus and very wide general appeal.
