Moussa Diakite is a guitarist, singer and composer from Mali, now based in Western Sydney. His style is derived from the “Wassoulou” style of music from Bougouni area of Mali, fused with elements of Malian, Congolese, Highlife, Afro Beat, Cuban, Blues and Jazz. Accompanied by Len Samperi (bass/vocals) and Junior Jones (drums).

Pianist Tim Bruer and bassist Steve Elphick have performed together countless times over the 35 years, and both of them share a love of the conversational approach to playing jazz where the bass can be an equal voice to the piano, rather than just an accompaniment. In recent years they have been getting together regularly to further explore this kind of playing.
